Removal of window and door
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.36 PM
Can I remove a door and window that are connected to each other from and external wall. It leads to an extension that's been up over 10 years. I'm fitting a new kitchen and utility and would ideally like to remove the door and window.

the door and window combination frame i assume abut a wall at 90 degrees.if so there will be a lintol above the frame carrying the weight of the wall and/or joists above. that is my assumption from the way that you describe it. you should however seek the advice of a structural engineer who will visit your home and give you a full report.
