Hi not sure how other governing bodies do this but NICEIC have on line service to the electricians to certificate work and at same time notify the local authorities (your council ) who supply a notification to customer via letter or email . This is compliant with part 'P' and should be accepted by building control. check your emailed certificate to see if it is notification from local authorities if so send this to building control .if not check your electrician has notified local authorities ,they should send notification .

There is no such thing as a part p certificate? Do you mean the notification from Building Control ? If you had a job to notify the electrician has to do this online to BC and you get confirmation from them.
