Blown concrete floor in leanto side extension,1930's house
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.38 PM
20’x10’ kitchen; the concrete floor under the carpet has started to crack and push up causing a fragmented wavy lumpy floor ridge about 4ft long in middle of floor, at one end. The concrete seems weak and crumbly. I can’t make the floor any higher as it joins the lounge floor at same level. What is best way to repair this and what best to replace the unhygienic carpet with, for an elderly woman with bad feet?

Deteriorated concrete floor can be reinforced using SBR mixed with water. I costs about £20 per gallon, mix it with water and treat the concrete with it. It does work.
Then, chisel of the ridge to make it flat and patch up the hole with some mortar, or use self levelling compound.
