Turning wooden coffee table for outdoor use

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.56 PM

Hi. I have a wooden solid coffee table I would like to use outside to store wood. How would I make it outdoor proof? It has several layers of paint so assuming would have to sand it right down but not sure what to coat it with to make it suitable for outside. It won't be covered/sheltered so would be out all the time.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would rub all the paint with sandpaper and then paint it with oil for garden furniture. The oil preserves and emphasizes the natural appearance of wood.

I know this might be late but I think it unlikely a piece of furniture for indoor use would have been glued together with a waterproof adhesive. So all the joints will probably 'blow' and it will fall apart :(
