Electrical underfloor heating in hallway under wooden floor

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.36 PM

Hi, we are about to install new wooden floor in the hallway and want electric UF heating. The existing flooring is suspended floorboards (victorian property) so we would need foil UF heating. My questions are: 1. is it worth it given we will also have a radiator in the hallway - as i understand the heat from the radiator will rise whereas the UF heating will help to keep the floor level warm 2. do we have enough space to get two strips of UF heating next to each other? The dimensions of the hallway are 108cm x 300cm. The UF heating comes 50cm wide. I am looking at thermogroup UF heating and they suggest you need a 5cm expansion gap and 2cm between each strip. This takes me to 112cm so slightly wider than the 108cm gap. Is it worth having two strips for coverage or is it risky? Thanks
