Intercom System
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.38 PM
I live in an appartment that has a joint intercom system, with each apartment having its own intercom phone to speak to people at the door and buzz them in if required. My phone was cut at the point of entry to my flat - when it was been refurbished. I’d like to replace the phone. Is it straightforward to run a new phone wire into the intercom system? Or should a new phone be connected to the old wiring that runs to the flats front door and just extended in?

I bet all these systems work differently and so the first thing you need to do is visit a neighbour to see what phones are installed in the flat now and get one the same. If you do that, there will hopefully be some wiring instructions come with the phone. Hope that helps. Robin

Depending on the system, with a few pictures we can determine a replacement handset and also install/repair cut cable.
