Washing Machine Buy New or Repair?
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.38 PM
Hello, My 5+ yo mashing machine is recently making a terrible noise during spinning, I was wondering if it's worth to hire someone to repair it or buy a new one which will be with a 3 years warranty? Any Advices? Thanks

Hi Frusta,
Three questions: How is it working? Is it getting worse? Is it still in a warranty period? It's well known that a common problem with anything that spins is the bearings. It really boils down to what make of machine you have and what its original cost was. If you've had it long enough that you finally think yep its paid for itself then great! Most machine repairers will offer a quote and be able to tell you what they think it might be first to help you decide!
Hope this helps, Thomas.

Honestly, No Brainer!!!
Don't throw money at something of that age that next week possibly something else goes wrong after this repair. Things with moving parts will go wrong.
Spend your money on a new one with a guarantee.
In these modern times of ours, unfortunately modern manufacturing usually from China isn't quite what it used to be.
Things aren't built to last anymore as they were in the 60's etc etc. This means that the consumer has to keep buying which isn't pleasant for any of us at the time, but it keeps the wheels of industry ticking over and everyone stays busy and Currys gets a sale out of you in a nutshell?
Hope this Helps
Tim
