Partition door between two reception rooms
Anonymous user 23 February 2024 - 3.15 PM
Hello, we have two walk through reception rooms on the ground floor. We would like to install glass partition door between the reception rooms either made of wood or metal. The gap is 3.5m long and 2.5m tall. I don't know what our options are, if we can buy the door or does it have to be made specially. Thank you so much for reading!
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
If you were looking to fill the whole expanse with a frame that has glazed side screens and a glass panelled door of that size. Then it would typically be purpose made. So you would need to contact a joiner company or plastic doors/windows company. Alternatively it may be possible to configure some form of timber wall with glazed screens made of door linings that would be altered. Not the simplest of jobs and wouldn't look as good as a bespoke frame.
An option would be to use 838 x 1981 doors 4 no with clearance = 3367mm
that would leave a frame jamb of 66mm to each side. Allow 1990 in height overall this would typically leave a 510 upper glazed panel. Any competent joiner/carpenter can make this simple frame set on site using a variety of Pse timber sections.
