Will Building Reg Drawings need to have the Structural aspect on them, i.e where the steels go?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.15 PM
Hello I have received the building reg drawings back from my architect for a loft conversion. It is hip to gable and is going to require a far amount of steel and the roofs weight redistributed around three dormers but there is nothing about this on the building reg plans. Is this normal?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi
Your building inspector will usually want to see the specification for any steel beams. (including the calculations) These calculations are usually produce by a Structural Engineer.
I would advise you get clarity from your architect and approval from your building inspector, at a very early stage, to avoid delays during construction.
