Can I wallpaper a wall where a log burner is?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.35 PM

I am having a 4.9kw wood burner fitted. I was hoping I could still use wall paper on the wall. Not in the chimney breast it’s self but the actual wall. I wasn’t sure if the heat would cause any issues.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes you can but you need to beware of heat problems (flammability risk) and adhesion problems (it will eventually peel). I’ve seen log burners (my own included) fireplaces tiled with brick effect tiles and it looks perfect! Google it for an idea of what they could look like. Anything else, gimme a shout, Cheers.

If you want it to last long , I'd suggest go for another option.
