New kitchen in a new single story extension

I am considering a new single story kitchen extension (full width of the back) and as result will need a new kitchen. The builder i am considering going with includes fitting the kitchen as part of the price - if we supply it. I will be looking for a fairly cheap kitchen which naturally looks nice and is well built up to about £2/3k as once the new extension is done we will be looking to sell the property to make some money on it (we will obvisouly use the kitchen for a few months) My question is - where would you suggest the best places are to get a resonable kitchen. I have thought about places like Home Base / Wicks / B&Q - is it worth using their free kitchen design as i dont really have a clue? Or would it be better to get the builder to take off the price of fitting the kitchen and get a specialist tradesperson who can supply and fit the kitchen?

Most builders have trade accounts with kitchen suppliers so you could ask the builder to supply and fit, this way you would get a good quality kitchen planned by the suppliers for free, and fitted looking the part. I use Howdens first class. Hope this helps.

I was going to say exactly the same as 'Heat Right' above! I generally use Howdens too , there not the cheapest for the cabinets. but they are already made up as complete cabinets. so no flat pack assembly. this reduces your labour/fitting costs. so overall there as cheap as buying from B+Q etc...but easier as they also have everything in stock, so no 4 week waiting times... a good builder or kitchen filter with have a small kitchen fitted within a week.
