Cracked wall near to ceiling after high winds
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.35 PM
Hi, this crack wasn’t here last night, and well, it is now! It’s a crack the whole way along the wall very close to the ceiling. Looks as it if would be the scrim tape line?which goes round the corner as well. Any ideas on why it’s magically appeared for any reason? :( only skimmed and everything last year :(
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If the crack is in a straight line then it's probably where the plasterboard joint hasn't been screwed in place properly which has allowed it to move and crack, if u put pressure on it near the crack and you feel the board move then that's the issue. You should be able to get away with putting a few plasterboard screws in along the join to prevent further movement then fill and paint over the crack.
