Legal requirements for shower instilations

Hi I am planing on having a shower installed , the electrician has told me that he is he can give a certificate for the work but is not registered with the NRC , Im just a bit worried by , it's a lease property so I need to make sure the job is done properly , can anyone advise me on this please

As I assume it’s in a domestic property and in a bathroom it requires a Electrical Installation Certificate and notification to Building Control. Any part p registered electrician can do this for you. If you go down the route of using someone who isn’t registered with a scheme you have to apply for consent to do it first. This is time consuming, costly, and not very practical. The other down side is if the procedure, whichever one is undertaken is not followed, you can be fined up to £5000-not the electrician who is un-registered.
