Can mains pressure affect my boiler?
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.37 PM
There is a burst water pipe in the area. We have been notified the our water pressure may drop. Could this have caused my boiler to leak underneath? If so will the leak be rectified when pressure back to normal? Thanks Kerry

I've seen a number of boilers leaking after the recent cold snap. Some have been directly affected by frost that has caused damage by freezing. Others have suffered from frozen external condensate pipework that has caused the condensate (waste water produced by combustion) to back up into the boiler and either leak or damage the boiler.
As above, the damaged water main is extremely unlikely to have caused your problem. Hopefully, a suitably experienced heating engineer will be able to quickly isolate the problem.
