Toilet handle goes around 360

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.37 PM

Hi, Just had a toilet installed. Bought from Victorian plumbing online. The toilet itself seems fine, but the plastic fittings inside look extremely cheap. However, the toilet handle goes around 360 degrees if pushed with any reasonable force. Is this a question of bending the 'hook' between the handle and the lever more? Or will that alter the starting position of the handle? Its currently a little above level to being parallel with the top of the toilet, so at a kind of 45 degree, pointing upwards. Thanks

A lot of toilet manufactures sell you the ambiance and pleasing to the eye of the product. Then install rubbish inside that you can't see, such as toilet syphons, bath and sink wastes that are even cheaper than the cheapest, and if there was a gold medal for the cheapness they would win hands down. Nobody can overcome cheap rubbish in the long term, only quality replaces crud.

no, cheap rubbish that we plumbers have to overcome and put right, you can get different size links to fit between syphon and handle, but yours sounds like plastic link between handle and link is not tight ,
