Engineered wood : which one should i choose Fixed lenght or random
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.37 PM
I am bit confused on choosing engineered wood flooring. I made my mind on speices (walnut) but couldnt decide on lenght and waer layer. fixed lenght and thicker waer layer is costing more and i was told that thicker wear layer means i can re-finish more times. I think everytime i do sanding it extra cost sanding 4 times will cost me almost near to a new floor ?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

i wouldn't worry about recoating thats a very long time away if ever. I personally like working with random lengths it looks more natural.

Engineered flooring is the right choice over solid wood because it’s more rigid and fits together perfectly. The random lengths will give you a more interesting layout and as for sanding, unless it’s for industrial use you’ll be looking at 10 to 15 years if ever.
