Wet wall disaster help
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.17 PM
I had a cowboy fit wetwall in my bathroom. The wet wall is now peeling and flaking off. The design was black with silver glitter effects and this is peeling off to show just black. How is this happening? Cannot locate any answers on google
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, I'm really sorry but I'm not sure exactly what you mean here... but as no-one has answered yet I feel like I should try. (Hopefully other people can add more useful info for you.)
To my mind 'Wetwall' is a solid piece (usually 2.4 x 1.2m) of material which should be waterproof from every aspect. And in theory, it is really hard to fit it incorrectly! Usually, it is glued to the substrate, and the joints are either managed by proprietary trims supplied or they can be managed with a good quality silicone sealant.
The fault you describe seems to be a product fault rather than a failure through incorrect installation procedures. So the key question is did you supply the wetwall or the installer??? My first call would be to the technical services team of the product itself.
To summarise, either I have mis-understood your problem, or the product is at fault... hope this helps, and good luck.
Mike
