Fit sink in an island

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.35 PM

I'm considering moving my sink into an island. The sink is currently on the window wall.I have a concrete floor and the drains are 400mm higher outside.I would need to make a channel in the floor for pipework. Is it possible to get rid of the waste if the drains are higher outside my property? If it is possible what would I need to make this happen? What sort of cost would a tradesman ask for this sort of job?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi I think you will have a certain answer with a visit from someone to have a look. A quick reply though is that there are pumps to solve the problem but still you need some fall and other factors. Another option is to leave the sink where it is and keep the island for other things. You will avoid issues with blockages also in the future. Kind regards Kosta

you could chase out floor take pipework through wall ,dig up outside so that you can enter drain at a lower level quite expensive to do,you could fit a pump the good ones are expensive and after a while will block up,you could also and best way trench out to drain and run new drain service in 100mm to island unit.
