Covering Emulsion on a hardboard backed wall paper

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.14 PM

I am try to cover a strong shade of yellow on a hardboard lined wall,it has been coated in good quality white emulsion , not watered down, but still my wife is convinced she can see the yellow drawing the colour from the new emulsion we are applying. Is there anything I can apply to this wall and stop it leaching the yellow colour. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Iain Wright

Unfortunately with some strong colours you need to apply 2 coats of white emulsion to completely block it out, my advise apart from starting again which would cost more time and money is to just apply an extra top coat of new colour hopefully that will make it look solid and hide existing yellow.
