What type of trade for vented tumble dryer installation?
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.37 PM
Hi there! I'd so appreciate some advice! I have posted a job on this website and have had a few really great tradesmen come back and say that they could help but I'm just not sure who we would need. We are hoping to install a vented tumble dryer in a space under our stairs. The space is at the back of the house, which backs onto another property. There is between 8 and 12 inches of space between the back of our house and the dividing wall. We are wondering whether tube could run the height of the house, to allow the steam to escape! The space does not have an electrical socket but there is one on the other side of one of the walls. So, presumably, we'd need an electrician to install a socket in the cupboard (that much, I know!) I just don't know what kind of trades-person would be best placed to tell us whether the dryer would be able to be vented up through the gap between houses. We have some issues with damp in the house so we need to make sure that moisture isn't going to escape, either in the house or from the vent pipe. Help!! (I've put that the trade for this question is plumbing but I would guess that it probably isn't... but I had to put something! I'd welcome advice from anyone and everyone!)
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
