Possible leak on roof that is causing the primer paint on wall to appear wet and damp
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.16 PM
One part of the wall (which is part of an extension to the house) has appeared to be damp and wet and we are thinking that there is a leak on the roof that could be leaking through. Only a small part of the wall. I think it might just be the moisture in the room which is causing the paint (just primer) to come off the wall. There are stains though that appear wetter than anywhere else on the wall. Is this a leak on the roof that only affects one part or just moisture condensation in the room because of heating?

It could be either, you can get condensation on walls that are external, usually in corners, due to a cold outside wall and warm inner skin.
Only an inspection from an experienced roofer could determine this ,the only clue could be if the problem was getting worse, then it would probably be due to a roof leak

The problem could be either condensation or a leak from the roof. If you notice the damp has got worse it's more than likely due to leak in roof. Wouldn't take an experienced roofer long to find and fix the problem
