Removing old plaster

Leaving the paper on, if it's tough paper it will only make it a little awkward when shovelling up the rubble and putting in bags and could hold it all together when taking off the plaster. As for the skirting and coving, if they relate to the age of the property I.e high skitings decorative cornice it can be down to your preference, if you really like it and want it saving a good plasterer in most cases can save it and plaster up to them as I have done many of times. But if they are modern, I would just take them out and replace once plastered. Hope this helps

take old paper off ....knock off old plaster to 1 metre high ...look for any damp ...if so drill and inject doc fluid ..re plaster or dryline walls then skim walls new 5 inc skirting

I would remove the paper from the walls. If the walls are solid then I don't think there is any need for the old plaster to come off. Should there be any loose plaster, gently remove it and then the area can either be rendered, or hardwalled. Should you choose to remove the old plaster, then the area could either be rendered or dot and dabbed prior to plastering.
