How can I improve my water pressure when more than one shower is being used?

Anonymous user 15 January 2018 - 12.44 PM

Hello, We have a problem with quite a drastic loss of water pressure when using a shower/tap if another shower/tap is used at the same time. I recently had a 250 litre unvented cylinder fitted which has helped the pressure but hasn't stopped the problem if more than one is being used at the same time. I am shortly to install a 2nd ensuite upstairs which means I will have the following:- - 2 x ensuites (each with shower, basin and toilet - 1 x main bathroom with bath/shower, toilet and basin I am also about to install a downstairs shower room which will have shower, basin and toilet. Is there anything I can do or install to overcome this problem so people can shower without losing a lot of water pressure? I look forward to responses. Thank you for the responses. The mains boost pump option - would there be a brand or type you would recommend?

You definitely can, For all those ensuite's I would recommend a minimum of 60 to at least 100L mainboost pumb which is suitable for multiple bathrooms and outlets, easy to install and is designed to sit within a typical kitchen 600 mm larder style cupboard it will deliver up to 30 litres/minute flow at 3.2 bar pressure, to multiple outlets within the property, up to the preset cut-in limit at which time the system will deliver 12 litres/minute until demand ends and the pressure vessel recharges. Best of luck !!!

you could fit some kind of water pump to improve your pressure.& or fit 22mm pipe instead of 15mm to improve water flow.

Hi Brett The unvented cylinder you have is more than adequate in supplying hot water for your needs providing it has an appropriate plentyfull supply of cold water. Check the manufacturers literature for what is required. It will probably ask for a minimum of 1.5 bar dynamic pressure and a flow rate of 25 litres per minute from the mains inlet water. Without this you are unlikely to achieve satisfactory hot water. Regards Roy
