Cement wash over porotherm bricks?

Hi, is it possible to cement wash / mortar smear over porotherm bricks? I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to plastering the exterior Thanks

Nope. It has to be a certain thickness or it will fail. Rendering is the least you can do, exterior plaster. What you have in mind would have to be an expensive resin based product that would end up costing more than rendering.
