Heated towel radiators narrower and into floor than current radiator
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.55 PM
Hello - I have a radiator in my bathroom that I'd like to replace with a heated towel radiator. All the heated towel radiators I see in shops are attached at the wall and are narrower than the radiator I have currently, which goes into the floor. Would a plumber be able to adapt the towel radiator to fit? Or will I need to find a towel radiator of the same width and that goes into the floor like the radiator I currently have? Many thanks!

Normally the pipes that serve the current radiator would come up and be added to to fit the new radiator.
So if, for example, the current radiator is two feet wide and your towel radiator is one foot wide, the pipes would be brought up and about six inches would be added each side to reach the new radiator.
From the wording of your question it sounds like you want the new radiator cut through and have more width added and put back together again..?
That would not be a good idea. The amount of time, effort and materials to do this would make it untenable.

All pipes can be altered relatively easily and adapted to suite new radiators or towel rails , we would be more than happy to give you further advice upon a few pictures
