I can't replace the toilet seat
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.14 PM
Hello, The toilet seat and cover broke but I can't see how to replace it as there is just a middle fixture in the middle with no holes or moveable parts to allow you to reveal the bolts below. It does move back and forward when a lot of force is applied but doesn't come off.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Sounds like a close coupled toilet with the system seated on the toilet bowl with no access behind? Some seats do have a hidden catch that allows them to be removed or adjusted if designed specifically for close coupled systems. Failing this, sadly the only way to remove the seat in most cases is to unplumb the toilet completely, remove it and the carry out the necessary works before re-instslling. If this is the case id recommend buying a toilet seat that can be removed whilst the toilet is in situ for any future requirements.
