Hi I want to ask what is better and cheaper please.... is it electric underfloor heating or gas heating? Can be house combined with radiators and underfloor heating? is it better to have simply radiators? I’m asking because we want to do double storey extension and while kitchen will be big with bifocals doors I want make sure is gonna be warm during winter and also dont wanna spend hundreds on heating on bills.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

without doubt wet underfloor heating (fed from gas boiler) will be alot cheaper although retrofitting this is so much harder. I would suggest Electric mat underfloor heating is more designed to do the odd room or two. Its great as a secondary source of heat in kitchens or bathrooms as it takes the chill off the air And the flooring. So if your thinking of adding some underfloor heating into an existing house perhaps go for electric in certain rooms but keep the radiators.
In your situation, you could have wet underfloor heating on the ground floor of extension and radiators upstairs, you could always put an electric underfloor mat in any upstairs bathrooms. You shouldnt need radiators on ground floor of extension with wet underfloor heating, hope this helps

Hi, That's 3 short questions that require 3 long answers beyond the scope here.
In brief electric and gas both have there uses in different circumstances. Underfloor heating is slow heat build up, slow cooling rather like old electric storage heaters without the ugliness. It is popular in new build but isn't very successful retrofit. You can have radiators and underfloor heating combined but again it's not very successful unless expertly designed.
