Expanding wooden doors

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.34 PM

I have external double wooden doors that expand when it rains even after they have been glossed. Are there any solutions?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It needs to be sanded down to wood then use oil based varnish or paint, if painted over the old damaged one cannot penetrate enough to make a good bond. Of course the door needs to be bone dry before doing the job.

Can only agree with Crystal Building Services Ltd - Water / damp is getting in somewhere so strip it back and do it again. I would wait until dry and warmer weather to give them a chance to fully dry.
