Existing Driveway/Front of House Drainage

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.36 PM

Recently moved into a property with an existing raised, paved and sloped driveway which leaves roughly a 1m wide gap to the front of the house which, as far as I am aware, has been in place for over 30 years. The gap has very little drainage and surface water collects during heavy rainfall, the path and step to the front door is also raised so this space effectively becomes a puddle as the guttering from the roof runs down the opposite side of the door. I am a bit worried about what effect this is having as I can only see one 10mm diameter hole in the concrete. What is likely to be the best way of resolving the surface water issue without replacing the driveway?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If the slope is towards the house then you need to get some drains put in to take the water away. If the slope is away from the house then I suggest just skimming the concrete to put a bit of a slope on it to send the water away. As for the guttering issue, I suggest replacing it so that it runs where you want it to.

Water will only collect/stand where there is a low point . So aco drain channeling is needed along the house and then continue The paving - concrete up to this. The downpipe should automatically Take water from gutters into the aco drainage.we would willingly Give a quote for the work.

Hi With out seeing the main problem in question but you could solve this with a couple of solutions one would be aco channels installed and run to a outlet or drainage connection or you cold have a mini soak away installed which would help with drainage of storm water hope you get sorted
