Damaged thermal cut out by UK Power Networks?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.13 PM

We had a problem with flickering lights, which required UK power networks to replace a fuse in the substation. After they did this, my electric shower (9.5kw Triton Aspirante) stopped producing hot water. I believe this is related to the TCO, but can not be 100% certain as I have no electrical qualifications at all. Shower has only been installed for 6 weeks, and was working fine before they removed the fuse at the substation. My question is, am I right in thinking that this could damage my shower? Edit- shower was installed by a professional. I was going to try the warranty option, but as it's Christmas I will struggle. Looks like I'm going to be stinky until the new year :)

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hmm, maybe, but you would have a job proving it though. Maybe you would be better going down the manufacturers warranty route and not mention the power issue to the installer? I’m assuming the shower was installed by a professional installer(s) if it was a diy job then you are in a bit of a fix.
