How to fill 2" gap between my kitchen cupboards? and wall

I have a 2 inch gap between the walls and the kitchen cupboards. It's causing fine dust and even small plaster or stone work to always fall down from behind onto my kitchen counter. (We had some work done a few months ago, so the rubble was probably not cleared, and loose which I can see when I look underneath). It's 2m in length, is there any way of avoiding drilling and gluing a strip of wood underneath the kitchen cupboards flush to the wall to stop the dust falling onto my counter? Or some other alternative? Thanks

Hi, maybe a thinnish piece of wood could be cut and lightly wedged in place with some builders glue, example - no nails, sticks like anything, looks like a tube of mastic and applied with a mastic gun, that would do it, and if there are gaps between the new wood and units, apply some mastic with the mastic gun to the gaps and no more dust, can all be done for a minimum outlay of materials, good luck, Steve .

You have to put some wood fillet into the gap and secure it in with glue. It requires minimal materials and is quite cost effective. I would recommend using "mitre fast", which is a type of glue that dries instantly. I wouldn't suggest using other types of glue or it will slide down or you will have to stay and hold it in place!
