What can I do to get rid of water on my Windows
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.33 PM
Every morning and for most of the day now because it was winter, I have water on the windows in the house especially the bedrooms. I open the window in the morning and much later in the day it dries out but it means the house is very cold. I have seen mold growing on the net curtains around the window and have used bleach to wash them and put back but it has happened again. Any suggestions on a cost effective way to manage this issue would be much appreciated. Thank you

Hi there i read water on your windows!
Not in the glass
I would safely suggest you have a ventilation problem if your windows have trickle vents keep them open if the problem persists call somone out to take some readings this should be free of charge and see what a professional says
Sorry but with out looking at the problem it wouldnt be fair for me to diagnose
But my experience tells me ventilation

Daniel

This would normally indicate the gas has gone in the window .
Option 1 replace the glass unit .
Option 2 replace the whole frame with brand new .
Hope this helps you

Trickle vents can be installed to the frames to reduce condensation

Is your bathroom on the same floor as the bedrooms? If so try control the humidity thats created in there by showering and bathing. Let the fan ( if there is one) extract the moist air or if there isnt a fan then open the window and shut the door to the bathroom after showering or bathing. And do not dry clothes indoors especially on radiators. The glass in your windows is the coldest area of your bedrooms, excessively high moisture in the air will always move towards the coldest surface and then condence. The windows may not be the problem but that there is excessive moisture in the air
