New Radiator and new pipes under floorboards weeping
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.36 PM
Is it normal for a new Radiator with pipes under the floor to have a little weep at the nut under the floor ? And will this stop with expansion ?

Hiya
If the nut is weeping under the floor I would advise to get it fixed as it could cause problems in the future.

I am not sure why there is a nut under the floor, I can only assume this is a compression joint? Central heating pipework is normally copper with soldered joints, more recently plastic push-fit. Try a quarter turn at the nut if accessible. If that does not stop the leak then perhaps the joint needs a new olive or soldered joint etc. The leak will not improve. Can you upload a picture?
