Replacing old gas fire with new wood burning stove

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.54 PM

We have recently removed an old gas fire and now have an open fireplace. We had the chimney swept and have had about 6 fires in the opening. We now want to put a wood burning stove in but do we need to line the chimney with something?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You would need to sweep the chimney again in case of loose debits it would need to be fitted with a twin wall liner which the stove output size would calculate the diameter of the pipe also you would need to fit a steel or aluminium plate to the bottom of the chimney to seal it with liner going though you would also need a cap on top of the chimney pot hope that help
