Ceiling reboarding query

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.54 PM

Our ceilings seem to have been done with a thin wood then artex. Can these be skimmed without putting up plaster boards or is there a need/must to have boards put up first? (Overboarding).

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hard-board ceilings are fairly common, best to over-board it then skim it. On another note it is possible to skim over wood providing it's had blue-grit applied 24hrs beforehand. Done it many times clients and friends no problems ever. But not a ceiling - overboard the old one.
