Insulation

DPM and expandong foam sticks out

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.16 PM

Hi, I have builders who just done the insulation. The DPM and expanding foam sticks out on all edges of the chipboard. I'm going to do my own painting. Do I cut this off myself before I paint or do I paint and leave this to the floor fitter to do this? How does it work? Would the floor fitter trim it out? Thank you.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Usually the person doing the floor will trim out anything in their way,i would leave it to the guy incase you pierce the membrane but if you really want to do it yourself your best asking the builder to guide you onto what you can and can’t touch as without a picture i couldn’t tell you myself :) hope this helps, Kind Regards Sean Haigh

If you mean around the edge of the room before the floor has been laid and then skirting to go on? I would just let the floorlayer cut it back as he goes. All the best Martin
