Can I fit my 40mm celotex straight over my roof timbers?

I have just had a loft conversion and need to put celotex in. Need sure how to fix my final layer of 40mm to timber rafters without putting up battens to hold it. What fixings should and can use?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi just use at least 70mm screws with penny washer or something similar like wediboard washer to screw in to rafters.

hi just use 100'mm or 70'mm screws to ensure correct fixing to hold up the celotex and use a penny washer or use a large washer to stop the celotex from ripping through the screw.
