Installing a 2nd set of plumbing for dishwasher
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.13 PM
I have a washing machine plumbed into the kitchen, and I want to know how big of a job it would be to install a second set of plumbing (cold inlet and waste) for a dishwasher. Would it be a simple thing to have done? It is in a first floor flat if that makes any difference.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Depends where the dishwasher is to be installed. Is there a route for a cold pipe and a waste near by ?
Best to get a local plumber to come take a look and quote.

Fairly easy job providing the dish washer is close to the sink. You could do it yourself just get a y piece connector for the cold feed and a dual spigot waste for the sink. Just remember the jubilee clips on the waste pipe :)

Hiya, very straightforward job cut the cold fed, T fitting for the cold supply to dishwasher, and adapt the waste from single to a double junction to add the dishwasher waste, jubile clippings necessary

If the dishwasher is to be located near the waahing machine or the sink then yes should be a straight forward job 2-3 hours labour plus parts. if not then you would have to look at running a new water feed and possibly an external waste thtough the outside wall to the nearest stack.
hope this helps
