Electrical

Gas... dual fuel ovens, socket or fuse board

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.54 PM

I am looking to buy a new oven and have always used gas in the past, but there are more and more dual fuel ovens on the market now... my question is do I have to hardwire to the fuse board (needing an electrician for the job) for a cooker that has these specs; http://ao.com/product/cla100ngfblc-rangemaster-classic-gas-range-cooker-black-50166-14.aspx The oven is 2.6kw or is it as suggested on other pages that it merely needs to be plugged in? I have an electrical isolated switch for the ignition already and several sockets nearby. and in advance ... Thanks for your advice

Yes, even if you have prepared installation and you need only plug in. This should do electrician because also you need check the installation is safe to normal operation even if worked perfect before. I could try your self if you won't pay electrician, but remember if any issue with the oven and you don't have certificate you will loose warranty.

No, anything under 2.9kw is fine to plug in or install on a switched fuse spur. But manufacturers guidance to be adhered to.
