New build thermostat in garage

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.33 PM

Our new build has 2 thermostats on the plan one in the bedroom and the same symbol in the hall however the hall has been fitted with a heat detector - a different symbol fir this exists on the symbols but is not drawn on the plan. We have been told we have to go outside and Into our garage to change the temperature up or down or to change the program, this cannot be right? It’s a four bed family home without a personal door into the garage. To clarify we cannot control downstairs unless we go outside and open up our garage to access the thermostat..... Kieran I don’t think you read my thread correctly.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Probably the best thing to do is scan and upload your heating control schematics to a photo hosting web site so we can take a look at them, then we may be able to form a better idea with a view to helping you further. The more accurate information we have the better informed we are!

It sounds like you have zoned heating, meaning you can run your heating up and downstairs independently. If you have a control in the hall, bedroom and garage. I’d imagine the one in the bedroom controls the heating upstairs, the one in the hall controls the heating downstairs and the one in the garage is a frost protection stat to protect against freezing. I hope this helps, Kieran.
