Replacing a 10yr old gas fire with a gas log burner- new liner needed?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.16 PM
Hi We want to replace a gas fire (roughly 10yrs old) with a stovax5 gas log burner. Despite not looking in the chimney, we have been told we will need a liner, which would coat around £2,000 to fit. We assumed that there would already be a liner in place as the gas fire required one. Is there an easy way to find this out? Do gas log effect burners need a different type of liner? Thanks

You have not stated why you have been told you need a flue liner!
Please clarify?
