Is there any need for a Bathroom extractor fan

Hi. We are just fitting a new bathroom. Can anyone tell me if there is any requirement to fit an extractor fan? Thanks.

No you don't need one but they save you opening the window in winter and getting to cold.

Building regulations says that if there is a window that opens you don't have to have one. But as Phillips said it saves from open windows during winter
