Cutting a worktop thickness in half

I have been given this really nice piece of oak wood and I'm planning to make a little media unit for my living room. only issue is its too thick. Does anyone know where i can cut the thickness in half? I am based in AL2. Thanks in advance

I recommend finding a local saw mill and they should be able to help

More trouble than what it's worth. Just router the edge to make it look thinner
