Building Lean-To

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.53 PM

I am about to put up a Lean-to (poly carbonate roof and wood, no Bricks or mortar). I understand i can build 3 meters out but i currently have a building there and then a gap which is where i want to build the roof so does that mean i can extend further from that building or is it from the wall of the house? ( that building is also attached to the house but at one point i believe it was an outdoor toilet/log store. and my other question was how high can i go up as at the minute the roof of the other building is just above the first floor and i want to match it to that height but it will be visible for the neighbors do i need permission for that? I know if i get an extension it would be that height.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

HI, if it falls under the category of a conservatory rather than an extension , then there are fewer rules since its deemed a temporary building. Everything you are assuming looks about right as long as you are not in a conservation area or on a listed building . Hope this helps .
