Pressure guage 2 and not 1 - 1.5?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.32 PM

I have just had some work carried and the chap topped up my boiler to just below 2 on the guage after the work ( I think some water came out of one of my pipes which has now been sealed). I have a Worcester Combi and i assumed that the pressure bar should be set between 1 and 1.5. It is now closer to 2. Should I leave it at just under 2 or would it be best to lower the pressure a bit or will the system do this itself?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Usually the pressure gauge will have a green area for pressure to sit when cold usually between 1 and 2 bar. I try to keep it at 1.5 bar as my preference. If you want to drop pressure to 1.5 bar do it by bleeding a radiator.

Was the water hot when you read the gauge? If so this will be expanded system pressure, if cold the ideal pressure is 1-1.5bar. (COLD.)
