Shower Pump Installation

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.53 PM

I have had a complete refit of the bathroom and the plumber has installed the shower pump in the boxing behind the toilet However he has left the pump on top of the cardboard box it came in When I questioned this he said it was to reduce the noise of the pump ? I am not happy with this as if the cardboard box gets wet at any time then who knows what might happen. Really doesn't seem very professional to me to leave the pump on top of a cardboard box. Or am I missing something and this is done by some plumbers ? he also has connected the pump to the toilet so the pump engages every time you flush which I don't like either Many Thanks

Hi, cardboard is not the correct way to do it I'm afraid, as you mention it can get wet. Shower pumps generally aren't fitted to wc's, the correct way would be to fit a low pressure inlet valve to the wc.

Hi I have come across this before with some plumber leaving bit of cardboard under pump but it's not really correct but ain't going to course any harm and to be fair it won't reduce the sound and the toilet should have flow reducing valve hence why it's called a shower pump it's been designed to fit mixer showers
