Internal breeze block wall

Hi. I have two internal bathroom walls which are built of white breeze block. There is no supporting wall below. I am concerned about the weight on the floor. Can you give me some advice. The house was built in 1984 I believe.

Hi, Chances are that your walls are built on a steel or lintel of some sort. This is fine and common. If you do have any concerns give a reputable builder a call to confirm.

Hi wgray17_z950xc, Thanks for the question. Are you saying that these walls are not original with the property? If so what leads you to believe this and why are you worried about their position/weight? As Kmg carpentry mentioned, there could very possibly be a steel beam or other form of support below the wall but withing the floor zone, if there is no down stand below the wall in the room under. If this is a supporting wall to the house then i believe Building Control should have been involved in the alterations and there could be further information online with your local councils Building Control department.
