Kitchen Fitting

Is a 15mm gas feed too small for an oven and hob?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.16 PM

I will be having a gas hob and oven, and the installer has fitted a 15mm feed. The distance from the metre is approximately 4 metres in a straight line. Is there any reason that wouldn't be enough and should I be looking to upgrade to 22mm now before I fit my kitchen? Or is that unnecessary?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

HI, The normal rule of thumb is anything with gas coming in to the house has to come up in 22mm, all out lets for hobs are all usually 15mm. I hope this helps

15mm is usually fine. The gas safe engineer will carry out tests anyway before fitting the hob and cooker to make sure that there is enough flow/pressure
