How to remove bleed valve nipple which has rounded edges?

I have an old radiator which needs bleeding but the bleed nipple has rounded edges so when I use the radiator key to turn it anti-clockwise it keeps slipping. I have tried using long nose pliers but I can't get enough grip to turn it. Can anyone help? Edit - Solution: I ended up getting a clock spider key on eBay which had various different sizes and one of the smaller sized keys did the trick!

If it's not possible to replace the bleed valve in the usual way, have a search online for 'easi-bleed' - these are self drilling air bleed vents for use with radiators which have damaged vents. I have used many of these on round top rads where the bleed nipples are non-replaceable but they could easily be used on a standard rad if there's no other option.

I would suggest
-isolating the flow of hot water to the radiator but shutting off the Thermostic Rad Valve and lock shield.
- draining a small amount of water out of the radiator from the nut on the TRV (thermostatic rd valve)
-replace the bleed valve it’s self
-Once replaced and shut, turn the radiator back on and bleed/fill system according to what type of system you have.
This way it will prevent any further struggles later down the line.
