Does my builder need to be registered for plumbing and electric work?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.53 PM
I'm about to start a project to renovate my bathroom with a builder that has been recommended to me. The work will involve the following: - Remove existing bath and fit new bath with over-bath shower - Remove existing toilet and fit new toilet (in new location) - Remove existing sink and fit new sink (in new location) - Fit 5x LED downlights - Fit electrical supply for vanity unit lighting and shaving point - Fit new light activated extractor fan - Remove/dispose of existing radiator - Fit new electric/central heating dual-fueled towel radiator - Lay new electrical heatmat underfloor heating with wall mounted thermostat My question is: a) Does the work detailed above require the builder to be registered on the following; - Gas Safe (https://www.gassaferegister.co.uk/) - Registered Competent Person - Electrical (http://www.electricalcompetentperson.co.uk/) i.e. is the work "Notifiable" b) Are there any other registrations that the builder should prove they have to do this work? c) Do we need to get any certificates once the work is completed? Thanks!
